OUR AMAZING BOARD MEMBERS

Abraham “Bill” Jenkins is President Emeritus of The Progressive Club of Johns Island. Established by his father Esau Jenkins in 1948, the club was a hub for Black Islanders to gain access to civil rights and opportunities for social advancement to improve their quality of life. In addition to political education and organization, it provided a grocery store, day care center and hosted recreational activities for island residents.
